Vote for Commitment and Dedication to Your Area: Vote DOROTHY KIRK on 4th May 2017

IN THE TAMAR VALLEY AREA WE ARE ONE OF 8 wards or areas in Cornwall lucky enough to have a Labour Councillor.

Dorothy Kirk has held the seat since the last Local Government elections in 2013. She has tirelessly represented the interests of residents in the locality through providing advice, guidance and representation to individuals and families as well as a host of other issues that relate to Council services provided in the locality.

In her work Cllr Dorothy Kirk has:

1. Campaigned and secured a better bus service for the area
2. Assisted a large group of residents by lobbying for the Royal Marines to move cars trapped by a landslide on in Lower Kelly
3. Stood up for the continuaion and improvement of local rail services that were faced with cutbacks
4. Worked to secure a new water main for Calstock
5. Successfully made the case for a safety audit of the local A390 road and had ‘slow’ signs put up. She is currently working on getting a zebra crossing for St Anne’s Chapel that has a long stretch of road with no crossings
6. Ensuring that any local development involves enforcing air quality and environmental standards set out on Cornwall’s local plan.
7. Vigorously opposed cuts to Cornwall’s public services including the NHS.

Dorothy is mindful of the current and future needs of the area and stresses the importance of affordable housing as well as education and employment opportunities for the young.

If reelected Dorothy will continue with the important work she has been doing and intends to tackle many of the issues raised by the Governments’ seemingly relentless attack on public services including the NHS in Cornwall.

A vote for Dorothy will be a vote for her to continue her work in service of the people of Calstock, Gunnislake and Albaston with the goal of making  them even better places to live in. On May 4th: Vote Labour. Vote Dorothy Kirk.
